Cactus garden with barrel cacti and a columnar cactus centerpiece against a dark board-and-batten backyard wall
Desert Garden Design

Every planting is a chance to create something worth pausing for.

Every landscape is designed for its site alone, drawing out the character of the desert for a guest experience that feels entirely original.

The details guests notice are the ones worth building. This corner of the backyard sat mostly bare against a dark board-and-batten wall, so we composed a cactus garden with real presence: layered barrel cacti at the base, a columnar cactus doing the vertical work, and a single boulder anchoring the whole bed. It gives the space a moment of its own, the kind of detail that makes a stay feel elevated and a yard feel intentional.

That thinking carries into every property. A landscape built for one site becomes a moment guests remember, and on a short-term rental it becomes part of the stay. Here, it started with the planting.

Golden barrel cacti sit in loose, uneven clusters, reading as something the desert settled on its own. The columnar cactus behind them breaks up the flat wall and draws the eye up.

The boulder sits off-center to anchor the bed. Decomposed granite fills in around it: low maintenance, good drainage, and a warm tone beside the dark siding.
